We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming YSIAC-YAWP Breakfast held during Singapore Convention Week 2026, hosted at A&O Shearman’s Singapore office.

International arbitration practice places heavy emphasis on technical excellence, yet many of the skills that determine long-term success are rarely “taught”. Managing clients, reading tribunals, navigating difficult conversations, leading without formal authority, and building one’s professional profile are learned through experience. This breakfast event sets out to canvass those lessons openly and candidly, for arbitration practitioners who are transitioning from “doing the work” to “owning the work.” Rather than simply highlighting polished success stories, it will focus on mistakes, challenges, and turning points, and the practical lessons they reveal. The aim is to normalise honest conversations about the “soft skills”that underpin a successful yet sustainable arbitration career.

Breakfast will be served before and after the discussion, with time set aside for networking. There will also be a Q&A session
and participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance.

We hope you will join us for this engaging and insightful morning.

As arbitration continues to expand across jurisdictions, multilingual proceedings have become increasingly common bringing both opportunities and complexity. This ArbitralWomen panel at Singapore Convention Week brings together experienced practitioners, arbitrators, experts and institutional representatives to explore the practical, legal, and strategic challenges arising from arbitrations conducted in multiple languages. The session will open with an introduction by Alexandra Einfeld, ArbitralWomen Country Representative, setting the scene for a timely discussion on linguistic diversity in international dispute resolution. Moderated by Yuet Min Foo (Drew & Napier), the panel will feature insights from a distinguished group of speakers: Clemency Wang (White & Case), Joyce Tay (HKA), Wang Xuanxhong (SIAC), and Anne Secomb (Arbitrator).

Can Arbitrators Stay Online and Stay Neutral?

On 28 August 2026, Russian Women in Arbitration will host their second event as part of Singapore Convention Week – "Can Arbitrators Stay Online and Stay Neutral?".  Is deleting socials the way to go now for arbitrators? Recent case law suggests that an arbitrator’s digital footprint has become relevant to assessing impartiality, as likes, reposts and public statements form the basis for allegations of apparent bias. During panel discussion,  counsel, full-time arbitrators, and arbitral institution representatives will examine the fine line between personal expression and conduct warranting disclosure, the duty to investigate an arbitrator's digital presence, and whether the current framework adequately addresses the modern realities. The panel discussion will be followed by a networking reception sponsored by Lansky, Ganzger, Goeth and Partners (LGP).

What are the unwritten rules that shape careers in arbitration?

Join ArbitralWomen and SWAN for The Hidden Curriculum – an interactive soapbox event exploring the informal expectations, assumptions and challenges that influence professional life beyond technical excellence.

Through ten candid four-minute provocations by leading practitioners, we'll spark honest conversations on mentorship versus sponsorship, career breaks, invisible work, bias, leadership, networking, and other topics that are rarely discussed openly but often have the greatest impact. The provocations will be followed by an audience discussion and networking lunch.

Whether you're at the beginning of your career or a seasoned practitioner, this promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging discussion on the realities of building a career in international arbitration.

This event takes place ahead of the Swedish Arbitration Days.
