Transatlantic Power Plays: How the US and UK Shape the Enforcement of Intra-EU Awards in Energy Disputes

Following limitations on enforcement of intra-EU arbitration awards within the EU, parties increasingly seek recognition in the United States and the United Kingdom. This program analyzes how courts in these jurisdictions address such awards in energy disputes.  Participants will gain practical insight into enforcement strategies, procedural considerations, and litigation risks. The program will also compare transatlantic approaches and assess their impact on future arbitration practice.

Fishing expedition or fair game? Join us LCIA YIAG in Vilnius on 24 September 2026 at 15:30 for an LCIA YIAG interactive discussion on one of the most contentious features of international arbitration – document disclosure – where common law expectations of expansive production meet a far more limited continental approach. Opened by Prof. Dr. Maxi Scherer, President of the LCIA, a panel of practitioners from both traditions will explore where these instincts collide and offer practical insight into how parties and tribunals can navigate competing procedural cultures. Expect strong views and a rooftop overlooking Vilnius to continue the conversation.  Please register via the LCIA website (https://www.lcia.org/events/yiag-fighting-the-disclosure-battles-in-international-arbitratio-395.aspx) or directly by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. How I Got the Case: Stories from the Field.

Five practitioners, five real stories, one afternoon that could change how you think about building your practice.

Getting your first case rarely comes from a cold pitch – it comes from a conversation, a connection, or a contact who remembered your name at the right moment. In this candid afternoon session, five practitioners will share how networking shaped their careers, how the art of building relationships has evolved, and what it really takes to stand out. The session would then transition into an informal coffee, giving attendees the chance to put those insights into practice.

This event forms part of the Berlin Dispute Resolution Days 2026 and is open to everyone.
