Marieke Witkamp has joined Arbitra leading international organisation for arbitrators and neutrals. Marieke is an international arbitrator, who has worked on three Continents as a Commercial Judge & Arbitrator, Arbitration Attorney and In-house Counsel, effective 1 January 2026. Marieke is a Dutch National, now based in Houston, Texas and is licensed by the Texas Bar. She has also lived in the Middle East. Marieke is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and holds the CIArb Diploma in International Maritime Law, as well as an LLM in Dutch and US Law. Marieke’s areas of expertise include energy law, maritime, construction, insurance, M&A disputes, contractual disputes, healthcare and technology and communications. She has sat as sole arbitrator, emergency arbitrator and mostly as chair of arbitral tribunals.
Each year ArbitralWomen provides support to a number of Teams who participate in dispute resolution competitions, such as the Vis or Vis East International Arbitration Moot by covering their registration fee.
