ArbitralWomen Co-Founder Louise Barrington was honoured with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Canada’s Award for Distinguished Service, which was presented to her during the 2026 Canadian Arbitration Week in Toronto on 7-9 June 2026. Louise’s recognition highlighted her commitment to the international arbitration community, in particular through her work on educational initiatives, mentorship, and development of the next generation of arbitration practitioners. Louise is a full-time arbitrator, serving as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator or tribunal president. Louise is a member of Arbitration Place in Toronto, is admitted in Ontario, England and Wales and New York, and speaks English, French and Spanish. Louise founded and continues to direct the annual Vis East International Arbitration Moot.
