Bernadette Barker holds an MSc in Construction Law & Arbitration from King’s College London, awarded with a half scholarship. Her postgraduate legal training is complemented by two professional diplomas from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators: the CIArb Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (2014) and the CIArb Diploma in International Maritime Arbitration (2024).
She has undertaken extensive training in expert witness practice, holding both the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate (Civil) and the Certificate (Criminal). Her expert witness education includes Bond Solon training in Scottish Law & Procedure, Discussions Between Experts, bespoke Criminal Law & Procedure, and Courtroom Skills.
In the field of technical and regulatory compliance, Bernadette holds the BRE Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment (Life Safety), and the Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment. She has also completed specialist training with the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT), including curtain walling, façade systems, fire performance, and weathertightness.
Bernadette’s architectural education includes a BA (Hons) in Architecture and the Diploma in Architecture, qualifying her as a Chartered Architect with the RIBA and ARB.
