Hanna is a Global Leader in international arbitration and a Solicitor Advocate in the English Supreme Court. Hanna represents some of the world’s leading companies and states in high-value commercial and treaty arbitrations and litigations. Her practice covers pharma, biotech, life sciences, energy (incl. oil, gas, nuclear and renewable) sectors, and also banking, private equity, insurance, telecoms, commodities, consumer goods, satellite & aerospace.
Hanna's research focuses on innovation incl. seminal work on cybersecurity in arbitration. She sat on the CPR arm of the ICCA-CPR-NYCityBar working group whose draft Cybersecurity Protocol won the 2018 GAR Best Development Award. She publishes widely, including in Butterworths Challenges in Arbitration(LexisNexis), and lectures globally, including in Scandinavia where she hails from.
Hanna is passionate about teaching and mentoring and serves as External Professor for a Masters program in pharmacology in association with Milan University, and was awarded Women in Law Awards 2017 & 2018 – Medicine and Ethics for her expertise.
While practising at Latham & Watkins, Hanna co‐founded and co‐led the global Parent Lawyers Group to ensure that fathers and mothers can excel and progress in the law, and oversaw award winning pro bono initiatives in Latham’s London office. Hanna was shortlisted for the 2016 WeAreTheCity Rising Stars from nearly 1,000 nominations across sectors, partly in recognition of these initiatives.
Her free time revolves around her eye-surgeon husband and two cheeky sons, triathlon training, sailing, a steady mountain of washing, and kettle bells.
