Teaching

She taught the Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration course in the Business Master of the Universidad La Salle (2006 - 2021). Currently she teaches de ADR and Arbitration course at the Universidad Panamericana and is a faculty member of the Arbitration Diploma course by the Escuela Libre de Derecho and the ICC (2008 to date). She is also a tutor for the CIARB Fellow Accelerated Route course.


Education

She obtained her law degree with honors from Universidad Panamericana (1999). She also completed postgraduate studies in International Commercial Law (2020) at the Universidad Panamericana. She obtained her LLM in International Law (LLM) with honors from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2005).

As a recipient of the Folssom Scholarship for academic excellence, she attended the Academy for American and International Law at the Center for American and International Law in Dallas, TX (2008). A complete program that covered the main areas and institutions of US law. 

She obtained the Insurance Agent Certificate A (2015), which endorses her knowledge in insurance matters.

She has taken several diploma courses and obtained certifications in subjects such as: (i) Energy by the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2018); (ii) Peruvian Administrative Law by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2012); (iii) Anti-Corruption by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) (2019); (iv) Business Valuation by the Spanish Arbitration Club (2022); and Dispute Boards Seminar of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (2024), with focus on Peruvian construction law and administrative law.  

She successfully approved the Specialization Course in Administrative Law for Arbitrators (2019) and Course on Contracting with the State (2023), both given by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP).

She has various Diplomas in Arbitration:  by the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (2000); the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy (2019-2021); the Centro Internacional de Arbitraje, Mediación y Negociación (CIAMEN); the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) (2022) by which she obtained the Fellow degree; and the SAA/SCC Diploma Course on International Arbitration for Foreign Arbitrators (2023).

 
She also holds several diplomas and certifications in negotiation and mediation, among them from institutions such as: Academy of Court Appointed Neutrals (2020); Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA (2019); International Mediation Campus (2022); Singapore International Mediation Centre (2023); and AAA Mediation Training Program.


Other Information

Served as Secretary General of the Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) (2000 - 2006), where she supervised the administration of mediation and arbitration proceedings, both domestic and international, under the rules of CANACO, the Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Centre for the Americas (CAMCA) and the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (IACAC). She also participated in the drafting of Arbitration Rules for Small Claims of CANACO (ABC Rules) and represented Mexico before IACAC.

At the same time, as an independent practitioner (2006 - 2015), she participated in numerous arbitration proceedings related to international trade, some of them ad hoc (non-administered) proceedings under the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

She collaborated in major law firms based in Mexico and the US (2006 - 2015), where she headed the international arbitration and litigation practices. As part of it, she led cases in matters related to amparo, family, criminal, bankruptcy, corporate, tax, and labor law. 

Taking the most of her career in international arbitration, she founded Real Hearing (2019), a full-service company for arbitral hearings.
