Elisabeth Vanas-Metzler has assumed the newly created leadership role of Managing Counsel at the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), focusing on Knowledge Management and Development, effective 1 September 2025. Elisabeth has worked with the VIAC Secretariat since 2017 and was previously Deputy Secretary General at VIAC. Elisabeth studied law at Vienna University, Geneva University and Harvard Law School. She worked with renowned international law firms in Austria and Colombia with a specialization in dispute resolution. With her extensive experience in the field, Elisabeth contributes actively through lectures, publications, and memberships.
Each year ArbitralWomen provides support to a number of Teams who participate in dispute resolution competitions, such as the Vis or Vis East International Arbitration Moot by covering their registration fee.
