
Rebeca Mosquera and Cherine Foty Represented ArbitralWomen as Observers at UNCITRAL’s Working Group III Session in New York
ArbitralWomen President Rebeca Mosquera and Communications Chair Cherine Foty represented ArbitralWomen as observers at the 51st Session of UNCITRAL’s Working Group III on ISDS Reform. The session took place from will take place from 17-19 February 2025 in New York.
Rebeca Mosquera is a Senior Associate at Reed Smith in New York. She specialises in international commercial and investment disputes, conducted under the ICC, ICDR, AAA, ICSID, LCIA, JAMS, UNCITRAL rules, and on an ad hoc basis, with particular emphasis on the energy, mining, oil and gas, and renewables sectors. Admitted to the Bars of New York and Panama, Rebeca also sits as an arbitrator. She is recognised among Latin America’s Top 100 Female Lawyers (Latinvex), a Leading Associate (The Legal 500), and as a Thought Leader in arbitration (Lexology Index, formerly Who’s Who Legal). A leading voice on AI in arbitration, she was a member of the committee that reviewed the SVAMC’s AI Guidelines and now Co-Chairs the ABA’s TechCred Programme.
Cherine Foty is a Senior Associate in Covington & Burling’s International Arbitration, ESG, and Business & Human Rights Practices in Washington, D.C. She is a dual-qualified common law and civil law lawyer who spent several years practicing in Europe. She has experience in international commercial and investor-state arbitrations with particular experience in energy disputes. She also represents companies in a diverse range of non-judicial disputes involving human rights and environmental due diligence, global supply chains, and investor obligations. Cherine is an Adjunct Professor of International Arbitration at the George Washington University Law School and a Delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She has been recognized as Future Leader for Lexology (formerly Who’s Who Legal) and as a Best Lawyers “One to Watch” in ADR.
