IWIA Launches ‘Udaan’ Campus Ambassador Programme to Empower Women in Arbitration

On February 23, 2025, Indian Women in International Arbitration (IWIA) launched the “Udaan” Campus Ambassador Programme, an initiative designed to empower aspiring female professionals in international arbitration. Udaan, meaning “flight,” symbolises the boundless opportunities the programme seeks to create for Indian female university students across the globe.

The inaugural event took place at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam, during the first edition of the CTIL DSNLU-MCIA Vis Pre-Moot 2025. Manini Brar, IWIA Advisory Board member, was present in person to formally launch this landmark initiative.

Through Udaan, selected campus ambassadors will act as catalysts for greater engagement in the field, spearheading professional skill-building programmes, networking events, and advocacy efforts that champion gender diversity. A key pillar of the program is its strong mentorship network, designed to forge lasting connections between emerging talent and seasoned practitioners, paving the way for greater leadership representation of women in arbitration.

By integrating young voices into the IWIA community, Udaan is not just a platform—it is a movement dedicated to fostering a vibrant, diverse, and dynamic arbitration ecosystem.

Founded in March 2023 by ArbitralWomen Member Niyati Ahuja, IWIA continues to break barriers and redefine opportunities for Indian women in international arbitration.
