ArbitralWomen Announces New Features On Its Website

We hope that you have had a great start to the new year! Here at ArbitralWomen, January has been a busy month. We were excited to announce the news about our new Country Representatives who have been appointed to expand ArbitralWomen’s work and network across the globe. Today, we are proud to announce new features on the ArbitralWomen website designed to strengthen your visibility and improve the accuracy and usefulness of our Directory.

Since 2005, ArbitralWomen has hosted the first dedicated directory of female dispute resolution practitioners. To continue serving as a reliable resource for referrals, we are delighted to introduce key improvements to our Directory: a fresh design with new user-friendly features and an improved, multi-criterial search function.

You can see it for yourself here.

These updates respond to feedback from users seeking to navigate the Directory and identify suitable candidates from ArbitralWomen’s large pool of diverse female practitioners.

New Profile Fields – Action Required

To ensure your profile is up-to-date and appears in all relevant searches, please take a moment to log in and review your profile. The following fields in particular have undergone improvements:

  1. Bar admission: select your country of bar admission from the drop-down menu and add any state/county jurisdiction details, if relevant.

  2. Additional Jurisdictions: add all jurisdictions with which you have relevant experience through a dropdown menu.

  3. Legal Systems: add all the legal systems with which you have relevant experience through a dropdown menu.

These changes require you to verify your profile and make any necessary updates to ensure the accuracy of the information displayed on your profile further to these changes.

  4.  Nationality: a new feature has been added allowing users to include and/or exclude nationalities when searching for an appropriate candidate.

  5. Main country of residence: similarly, this field also allows users to search candidates based on whether they reside or not in a desired geographical location. A great tool to find all ArbitralWomen members residing in a city near you to organise your next AW meet-up!

  6. Experience with arbitral institutions: this new field allows users to search for candidates based on their experience with arbitral institutions.

A new blue indicator at the top of your profile will helpfully indicate the completion level of your profile. Completing all fields listed on your profile page – and uploading your publications – significantly increases your visibility and chances of being identified for opportunities and appointments.

Both individual members and members under Corporate Memberships are encouraged to take a few moments to verify and complete their profile.

New Feature – Contact of Board Committees

A new feature makes it easier to contact the Board. The Board’s Committees are now listed with the names of the Directors in charge, along with brief descriptions of each Committee; click here to visit the page. You can contact the appropriate Committee directly by clicking the envelope icon on the right-hand side.

Committee descriptions are also available on the Contact page.

Membership Renewal

Please ensure your membership remains active and up to date. Eligibility for roles such as the ArbitralWomen Board, YAWP Steering Committee or Country Representatives requires paid-up membership in good standing for at least one continuous year at the time of the call for candidates.

Your membership validity also appears in green at the top right corner of your profile page. And don't worry – you will receive reminders from our system reminding you of any impending expiry dates.

We hope you enjoy the improvements to the Directory!
