ArbitralWomen Announces Leadership for 2026-2028 Term

ArbitralWomen is pleased to announce its Board Directors for the 2026-2028 Term, including seven new Directors of whom two are returning Directors. The Board brings together professionals from a broad range of jurisdictions, backgrounds, and areas of expertise. This Board reflects ArbitralWomen’s continued commitment to promoting women and diversity in dispute resolution while strengthening engagement across regions and professional communities worldwide.

The incoming Board Directors selected Rebeca Mosquera, Senior Counsel in Dispute Resolution at Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia, to continue in the role of President of the Board, and Katherine Bell, a Partner at Schellenberg Wittmer in Zurich, to continue in the role of Vice President. As Vice President, Ms. Bell will also resume the role of Chair of Young ArbitralWomen Practitioners (YAWP), ArbitralWomen’s young practitioner group.

“It has been a privilege to serve as President of ArbitralWomen during the past term, and I am honoured to continue in this role. Together with an exceptional Board, Executive Committee, Advisory Council, Country Representatives, YAWP Steering Committee, and our global membership, we have worked to strengthen and modernise the organisation while expanding opportunities for engagement across jurisdictions.

The new term presents an opportunity to build on that foundation. ArbitralWomen will continue to support jurisdictions where important strides have already been made, while expanding opportunities, visibility, and support in regions where greater representation remains more difficult to achieve. In doing so, we will continue strengthening ArbitralWomen as a truly global organisation dedicated to advancing women and diversity in dispute resolution,” said Ms. Mosquera. “The incoming Board, representing a broad range of jurisdictions, backgrounds, and professional experiences, reflects that commitment.”

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with the outgoing Board under the superb leadership of Rebeca Mosquera,” said Ms. Bell. “I am truly honoured to be reappointed Vice President of ArbitralWomen and to continue to assist Rebeca, who has always stood out as a strong advocate for women in arbitration. I look forward to continuing the collaboration with Rebeca and the 2026-2028 Board, supporting and promoting female practitioners in international dispute resolution across the globe, and hopefully making a meaningful contribution to the success story that is ArbitralWomen.”

The 2026-2028 Executive Committee also includes Nata Ghibradze, Counsel at Hogan Lovells in Munich, who will serve as Secretary for a second term; Alina Leoveanu, Deputy Head of Disputes for Atos in Paris, who will serve as Treasurer for a second term; Clea Bigelow-Nuttall, Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig in London, who will serve as Communications Director; and co-founders Louise Barrington and Mirèze Philippe.

The Board Directors represent a variety of countries and include arbitrators, mediators, experts, in-house counsel, institutional leaders, and practicing lawyers. Their diverse backgrounds perfectly align with ArbitralWomen’s mission to promote diversity and inclusivity in the field.

ArbitralWomen wishes to thank outgoing ArbitralWomen Directors for their hard work and dedication to ArbitralWomen’s mission to promote women and diversity in dispute resolution: Cherine Foty, Catherine Bratic, Dilber Devitre, Sally El Sawah, Nesreen Osman, Nicola Peart, Rekha Rangachari, and Mary Thompson. We look forward to their continued involvement in our activities and initiatives as ArbitralWomen Members.

Co-Founder Mirèze Philippe further noted, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all Board Directors who have served over the past three decades. Through their unwavering dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts, they have made an immense contribution to the success and growth of the Organisation. None of our achievements would have been possible without the invaluable service of every Director who has served on the Board. I am particularly delighted that the majority of the Executive Committee remains unchanged and that half of the Board Directors will continue serving from the previous term. Their continuity and experience gained during the 2024-2026 term will undoubtedly help sustain the momentum and build on the excellent work already accomplished. The 2026-2028 Board is once again composed of talented and committed Directors who bring a wealth of skills and experience. I am confident that together, they will continue to guide ArbitralWomen forward and contribute to its ongoing success.”

Wider Leadership Structure

Additionally, ArbitralWomen benefits from a wider leadership structure that supports ArbitralWomen, including the ArbitralWomen Advisory Council (AWAC), the Young Arbitral Women Practitioners (YAWP) Steering Committee, and the Country Representatives (CRs). These volunteers contribute to advancing ArbitralWomen’s mission and to reinforcing the truly global nature of the organisation.

For any governance related issues, the Board has traditionally benefited from the experience of AWAC, composed of previous Board Directors. The new Board for the 2026-2028 term will continue to benefit from AWAC’s support, now composed of: Gaëlle Filhol, Dana MacGrath, Gisèle Stephens-Chu, Louise Woods, and Cherine Foty who now joins AWAC after having served on the Board.

We wish to thank the outgoing AWAC Members for the guidance, experience, and support they have generously provided to the Board: Lorraine Brennan, Dominique Brown-Berset, Maria Beatriz Burghetto, Gillian Carmichael Lemaire, Juliette Fortin, Yasmine Lahlou, Amanda Lee, Patricia Nacimiento, Gabrielle Nater-Bass, Rose Rameau, Donna Ross, and Karen Mills (who passed in August 2025).

Young Arbitral Women Practitioners (YAWP) Steering Committee

ArbitralWomen is also pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Rado (Klafter Lesser LLP, New York) to the YAWP Steering Committee. Jessica joins the YAWP Steering Committee alongside current 2026-2027 committee Members, Alina Aguilar, Nicole Grohmann, Melissa Hollenders-Brown, Cam Tu Vo Nguyen and Özge Yazar (click here for further information) and under the guidance of the ArbitralWomen Vice-President and YAWP Steering-Committee Chair, Katherine Bell.

Country Representatives (CRs)

Finally, as part of ArbitralWomen’s ongoing efforts to enhance membership and increase regional presence and visibility, particularly in underrepresented regions and jurisdictions, the Board appointed the following Country Representatives (CRs) at the beginning of 2026: Kathrin Asschenfeldt, Alexandra Einfeld, Izabella Prusskaya, Karolina Rozycka, Dua Surabhi, Aline Tanielian Fadel and Tara Singh (click here for further information).
