Sophie Tkemaladze Elected as the Georgian Association of Arbitrators (GAA) Ethics Commission Chairperson

Sophie Tkemaladze has been elected as the Chairperson of the Ethics Commission of the Georgian Association of Arbitrators (GAA), effective 3 June 2025. Sophie has acted as an arbitrator and party representative under the ICC, GIAC, LCIA and DRC Rules, primarily focusing on commercial and construction disputes. Her mediation practice focuses on commercial and workplace disputes, as well as facilitating disputes on behalf of the IFIs (ADB, EIB). She served as the Chair of the Governing Board Georgian Association of Arbitrators (2017-2021) leading creation of the accreditation standards for arbitrators, development of professional courses and adoption of the first Georgian Ad Hoc Arbitration Rules. She has also worked extensively outside of Georgia leading policy and development work in Iraq, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, as well as building capacity in arbitration and mediation in Fiji, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.
