Mevelyn Ong Appointed as Young ICSID Regional Delegate for South Asia, East Asia and Pacific, and as a HKIAC Regional Ambassador to the United States
Mevelyn Ong was recently appointed as a Young ICSID Regional Delegate for South Asia, East Asia and Pacific, and as a Regional Ambassador to the United States for the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), effective January 2026. Mevelyn is a Counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, presently based in Hong Kong. Prior to relocating, Mevelyn was based in New York for the majority of her legal career, focusing on international arbitration and U.S. sanctions/regulatory investigations. She has presented at conferences and authored significant publications on issues of political risk, transnational criminality, ESG/BHR, and international investment law. Mevelyn is an active member of several international law committees, including the IBA’s Investment Arbitration Subcommittee.
