Joan Stearns Johnsen has been appointed as Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution. Joan has over twenty-five years of experience as an arbitrator and mediator handling complex commercial, employment, and financial disputes. Joan is on the arbitration and mediation panels of the American Arbitration Association and the International Institute for the Prevention and Resolution of Conflict. She teaches arbitration, mediation, negotiation and international arbitration at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Joan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and certified as a mediator by the International Mediation Institute. She serves on the board of the Miami International Arbitration Society.
