Call for Moot Coaches and Arbitrators

ArbitralWomen’s Education and Competition Programme continues to support student teams competing in the Vis and Vis East International Arbitration Moots and other international ADR competitions. Past support has been featured in our special Newsletters No. 3 (2011) and No. 14 (2015), which include interviews and reports from mooties and professionals. More information about ArbitralWomen’s Education and Competition Programme is available here.

ArbitralWomen Members are invited to support the Vis East competition. Volunteer to arbitrate oral arguments in Hong Kong and/or provide comments on claimant and respondent memoranda if you are unable to travel to Hong Kong. The diversity in the teams from 40 different jurisdictions is not reflected in the make-up of the tribunals judging them. About 35% of the Vis East teams are from China and India alone, yet only about 5 or 6% of the arbitrators who judge them come from those countries.

In addition, ArbitralWomen regularly receives requests for moot coaches and arbitrators. Members with the time and experience to assist are encouraged to express interest by completing an application on the relevant competition’s website:
