Soraya Corm-Bakhos has left Watson Farley & Williams (Middle East) LLP effective 17 July 2024, after twenty years in private practice, to dedicate herself fully to her practice as an arbitrator. During her career in private practice Soraya advised clients in all types of commercial arbitrations under all major institutional arbitration rules in relation to a variety of industry sectors including energy, transport and infrastructure. Soraya has so far acted in over 25 cases as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and chair in arbitrations mainly seated in the Middle East under the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, BCDR and ArbitrateAD in disputes mainly related to construction, real estate, sale and purchase agreements, joint-venture disputes and general commercial disputes. She has been appointed to serve as a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She is also a member of the LCIA Arab Users’ Council. She has authored numerous publications in the field of arbitration and regularly speaks at a variety of arbitration conferences.
