The second week of October saw the latest edition of the extremely popular Arbitration Lunch Match initiative take place, this time in 45 cities across the world, from San Francisco to Tokyo and from Helsinki to Nairobi. London saw the largest number of attendees – over 200 women took part over 54 lunches, organised by ArbitralWomen Board Member, Kate Corby (Partner, Baker McKenzie).
The lunches bring together small groups of women working in international arbitration to network in a relaxed and informal manner over lunch – but the “secret ingredient” is that attendees do not find out who they are dining with until they arrive at the restaurant! Topics discussed by the arbitrators, counsel, experts, arbitral institution staff and other women in our industry range from those related to arbitration, career progression and mentorship, to travel, pets, hobbies and beyond.
2025 will see Arbitration Lunch Match celebrate its 5th anniversary, having been founded by Lisa Reiser (Baker McKenzie) and Ulrike Gantenburg (Gantenberg Dispute Experts) in Germany during the Covid Pandemic. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the next round, please reach out to Kate Corby – kate.corby@bakermckenzie.com.
