25th International Arbitration Congress (Rio de Janeiro)

In this special year, in which the Brazilian Arbitration Committee - CBAr celebrates its 25th anniversary, I invite everyone to the 25th International Arbitration Congress , to be held in Rio de Janeiro, at the Grand Hyatt hotel, from August 30th to September 1st, 2026 , with the theme "Arbitration and Power" .

In recent years, the CBAr Congresses have been dedicated to debating central themes for the development of arbitration in Brazil. In 2023, the theme was "Arbitration and Business Contracts"; in 2024, "Arbitration and Infrastructure"; and in 2025, "Integrity and Arbitration".

In 2026, issues related to the relationship between arbitration and power will be discussed from different institutional, procedural, and substantive perspectives.

The event will address relevant issues such as:

1. The powers of the parties in arbitration proceedings.
2. The powers and duties of arbitrators;
3. Arbitration and the Powers of Administrative Institutions;
4. Arbitration and Powers of Intervention in Contracts;
5. Arbitration and the Powers of the Judge; and
6. Arbitration and its relations with the Powers of the Republic.
