Emilia Onyema has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Indonesia International Arbitration Center, with effect from 1 August 2021. Emilia is a Professor of International Commercial Law at OAS University of London (SOAS) and an independent arbitrator. She is a qualified lawyer in Nigeria and England & Wales. Emilia is a CIArb Fellow and on the Advisory Committees and courts of various arbitration centres in Africa. Emilia leads the biennial SOAS Arbitration in Africa survey project and annual conference series. She is one of the founders of the African Promise, an initiative to increase the presence of arbitrators from the Africa and the founder of the Arbitration Fund for African Students which support the participation of African students in international arbitration events.
