Foley Hoag has appointed Christina Hioureas and Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo Co-Chairs of its Litigation & Arbitration Department, effective 26 January 2023. Christina Hioureas will continue as Chair of the United Nations Practice Group and Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo will continue as Managing Partner of the Foley Hoag’s Paris office.
Christina Hioureas is admitted to practice in New York, California and England and Wales, and is a dual Greek-US national. Her practice focuses on international investment treaty and commercial arbitration disputes, as well as public international law disputes and advisory matters, including before the United Nations and its bodies. She also frequently serves as presiding, sole, emergency and co-arbitrator in international arbitration disputes. She has repeatedly been recognised in notable arbitration rankings, including Chambers & Partners and Who’s Who Legal.
Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo is admitted to practice in New York, Paris and Madrid, and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She is a member of the ICC Court. Diana has nearly 20 years of experience in commercial arbitration, construction arbitration, international investment and ADR. Diana has considerable experience across an array of industries, including renewable energy, construction, defense, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, mining and telecommunications. She also often acts as arbitrator and mediator. She teaches arbitration law at Paris II Pantheon-Assas and at Sciences-Po Paris. She has continuously been recognized as a “Thought Leader” and a “Global Leader” by Who’s Who Legal.
