Cherine Foty, an ArbitralWomen Board Member, has joined the international arbitration group at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. as a Senior Associate, effective 7 September 2021. Cherine is a dually qualified common law and civil law lawyer who spent several years practicing international arbitration in Paris. She practices international commercial and investor-state arbitration and has particular experience in the energy sector, regularly representing clients in gas pricing arbitrations under long-term gas supply agreements. In addition to ArbitralWomen, Cherine is on the Steering Committees of CPR’s Y-ADR, the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations, and is the Advisor for Diversity & Inclusion for Arbitrator Intelligence. Cherine has been recognized as a Best Lawyers “One to Watch” for France in the field of international arbitration. She speaks five languages.
