Maria Ongoren, Counsel at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, is part of the founding team of Curtis’s new office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, effective 14 November 2025. An experienced investment and commercial arbitration lawyer, Maria has represented and continues to represent the State of Uzbekistan in high‑profile international investment arbitration cases, as well as other states and private companies in complex disputes. She has broad sectoral expertise across construction, natural resources, banking, and telecommunications, and is fluent in Russian and Turkish, bringing particular knowledge of CIS legislation to her practice.
Each year ArbitralWomen provides support to a number of Teams who participate in dispute resolution competitions, such as the Vis or Vis East International Arbitration Moot by covering their registration fee.
