Dana MacGrath is an Investment Manager and Legal Counsel at Omni Bridgeway, based in the New York office. She is responsible for leading the company's investment in international arbitration matters contributing to its commercial litigation funding efforts. Prior to joining Omni, she was in the international arbitration practice group at several global law firms, including Sidley Austin LLP, Allen & Overy LLP and O'Melveny & Myers LLP, having started her legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. She has a broad range of experience in international arbitration and litigation, having participated in numerous matters before the leading international arbitration institutions involving a variety of businesses and industries, including oil and gas, LNG, finance, telecommunications, transportation and international investments. She also serves as an arbitrator. In the context of international litigation, she represented U.S. and foreign parties regarding the enforceability of arbitration agreements and arbitral awards under the New York Convention as well as disputes regarding forum selection and choice of law clauses, sovereign immunity and discovery in the international context. Dana has been recognized as a leading practitioner of international arbitration in various directories, including Chambers USA and Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration.
Dana is President of ArbitralWomen and on the Steering Committee of the ERA Pledge. She is on the Council if the AAA-ICDR and co-chair of it’s Large Complex Case Committee. She was Co-Chair of the CPR Institute's Arbitration Rules Revision Committee. She is the immediate former Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the New York City Bar Association (September 2015-June 2018). She is an adjunct professor of law at Brooklyn Law School, where she teaches a seminar on international commercial arbitration and coaches the Brooklyn Vis Moot team. She writes and speaks frequently on the subject of international dispute resolution.
